Staying safe
How LocalLoop is designed
- Every listing is reviewed by a moderator before it appears.
- There are no public profiles and no messages between users, so strangers can't contact you through LocalLoop.
- We never ask for your address, school or date of birth.
- “Verified” only appears when a moderator has actually checked something, and the listing says what.
Before you apply or go along
- Check the details on the organisation's own website.
- Tell a parent, carer or someone you trust where you're going.
- Meet in public places. A real organisation won't ask to meet you somewhere private or alone.
- Never pay to apply for a job, and never share bank details, passwords or ID photos before you've met an employer and checked they're genuine.
- If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If something's wrong
- Use the Report button on the listing. Choose “I'm worried about someone's safety” for safeguarding concerns - these are reviewed first.
- In an emergency, call 999.
- Under 19 and need to talk? Childline is free on 0800 1111.
